Connecting and Strengthening Rural Voices on Poverty

Thursday 21st May 2026 10.30am - 12noon
Online

Discuss church and community approaches to rural poverty, and build connections between communities.

Church Action on Poverty is hosting an online gathering, to connect groups around the UK working to address rural poverty, and to strengthen shared messages and similar voices.

We will hear from:

The Diocese of Truro, which recently commissioned the Pretty Poverty report.
Churches Together in Cumbria.
Members of the South Lakes Poverty Truth Commission, which was the first rural PTC.
Dr Stephanie Denning of Coventry University, whose Hidden Hardship research explores hardship in the Cotswolds.
There will then be group discussions and a chance to connect with like-minded partners to take the work further.
