Go througth the gate and follow the path towards the trees to Brightwoods. The track is buggy friendly so suitable for families with pushchairs. Deepdale is within easy walking distance of Barnard Castle town centre. There is a small car parking area at the entrance for 6 cars. This is close to a bend in Lartington Lane and the narrow Deepdale Bridge. Further up Lartington Lane, 200 metres away, there is a larger lay-by, from which you can walk down to the reserve gates.
