Join a congregation

Joining a congregation helps us to belong, to get to know others and to become part of the Christian story in this place. We find that belonging and believing go together. You can attend any of our church services. Our congregations worship in different ways and have different personalities.

Changes to our service pattern during the pandemic

It's 'all change' in the light of the pandemic but you are still more than welcome to join us for worship

Our ‘8 o’clockers’ are early birds who prefer a quieter more traditional style of worship. This service currently uses the language of the Book of Common Prayer and lasts about 35 minutes

St. Mary's Barnard Castle

Sunday at 10.30am at Barnard Castle: currently suspended: see above for pattern of services during the pandemic

This hour long service involves music and either our robed choir, praise band or other musicians alongside our church organ. The service is usually one of Holy Communion. We gather after the service for refreshments which are served in church.

St. Mary's Whorlton

Village worship at St. Mary’s Whorlton takes place once or twice a month at 4.00pm. Our calendar of services aims to celebrate the main Christian festivals and to mark key moments in the church year.

Worship online

We're currently Livestreaming our 9.00am worship from Barnard Castle on our Facebook page. You can also join in worship over Zoom at 11.00am on a Sunday and 10.00am on Wednesdays
